Croatia’s PM proposes new candidate after finance minister resigns

SARAJEVO, July 6 (Reuters) – Croatia’s Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic stated on Wednesday that he proposed economic climate professor Marko Primorac as the new finance minister immediately after Zdravko Maric submitted his resignation in an unforeseen go.

Maric, who had initiated tax reforms and a stricter regulate of expenditure, has not talked publicly nonetheless about his explanations for leaving but the govt reported that he cited private good reasons. Plenkovic said Maric would speak to media on Thursday.

Plenkovic stated that he mentioned the transfer with Maric more than the earlier various weeks and thanked him on behalf of the govt for his 6-1/2-12 months work.

Plenkovic mentioned that he proposed Primorac, a lecturer at Zagreb College and the Environment Lender and IMF marketing consultant, as the new prospect for the job to the cabinet and the parliament vast majority, who approved him.

He reported that he would introduce Primorac, who has contracted Covid-19, to the parliament subsequent week.

“I imagine that he will be new finance minister from next Friday,” Plenkovic explained, introducing he believed that Primorac, 38, will quickly come across himself in the work.
